Jobs and investment boost
for West CornwallDebenhams and other high quality retailers have announced plans for new stores in Hayle, creating hundreds of new jobs and improving the retail offer in West Cornwall.
It is part of a £35 million proposal that is being promoted by Cranford Developments, to be built next to the existing West Cornwall Shopping Park
Transport and environmental improvements are also proposed, including an enhanced County Wildlife Site.
Before the plans are submitted to Cornwall Council, we would welcome your comments and views.
Next Steps
We will review all the feedback we receive from local people before submitting a planning application by the end of the year. If approved, we would hope to start work in Summer 2014 with the retail stores set to open in Autumn 2015.

transport linksThe new development will provide a range of transport improvements, including:

New jobs
for local peopleWhen completed, the scheme is likely to generate around 450 retail jobs. The shops will offer a variety of job and training opportunities. They will work closely with Jobcentre Plus to ensure opportunities for local people.
Further jobs and business opportunities for local contractors will be created through the construction stage.
