We need to replace the old shed that we use to store the light frames from January to September. The current shed is about 25 years old , the roof leaks and the walls have a number of holes in them. We want to buy a larger, purpose built shed that could also provide an area that could be used as a workshop for repairs if necessary.

How will your project benefit your local community?
A new shed will protect the frames from rain and sunlight. This will mean they will be in a better state when we take them out of storage, will have less damage and , therefore, will save us money on repairing the rope light which is sometimes damaged during storage. We would be able to buy a better shed, one that is taller and would allow us to stack the frames so they do not lean against one another which also can cause damage by crushing the rope light. It will also improve access to the frames and could be used as a workshop for repairs.

Please give details of any support you have from your local community
All the village support the lights, which was set up just over 30 years ago. The lights are designed and made in the village and the land that the shed is on has been given to the Lights Committee by a resident of the village

How many people will benefit from your project?
All the volunteers who help design, make, put up and take down the lights will benefit as the ligts will be stored securely and will be much more accessible if we can get a new, larger, purpose built shed.

Tell us what you intend to spend the money on.
a 20 ft x 10 ft shed

When was your project founded?
1985
