One of Cornwall’s best loved Christmas lights displays will not take place this year, organisers have confirmed.

Angarrack, near Hayle, has developed a big reputation for its festive lights display which illuminates the village each year.

Sadly, as is the case with Mousehole’s famous Christmas lights display, the decision has been made not to put on the display in 2020.

Posting on Facebook, organisers said: “Unfortunately it is with heavy hearts that Angarrack Christmas Lights Committee regrets to inform you that there will not be an Angarrack Christmas Lights display for 2020.

“We made this decision after careful consideration taking into account the views of the residents and those of the helpers that put up the lights.

“We would like to thank everybody that has supported and visited us over the years and look forward to seeing you all back, hopefully, in 2021.”

Angarrack Christmas lights started a long time ago, in 1986 but really started to increase in complexity with the switch from bulbs to rope lights after the flooding of the village on New Year, 2003.

The small village now has a big reputation for lights features an animated Twelve Days of Christmas across rooftops, on the sides of houses and even in rivers.
